Scan-based trading (SBT) allows retailers to pay for floral products when they are purchased by the consumer rather than when they are delivered to the store. ERI retains ownership of the inventory until the point of sale and manages replenishment, reducing the retailer’s inventory exposure while providing customers with a consistently fresh floral selection.

More Than Consignment

A successful SBT program requires more than placing products in stores. ERI combines demand forecasting, product sourcing, bouquet production, distribution and sales-based billing into one managed floral program. Store-level sales history is used to tailor weekly allocations and assortments to the demand patterns of each location.

By coordinating these functions, ERI helps retailers maintain a fresh floral selection while reducing the day-to-day burden on store teams and managing the risk and complexity of highly perishable inventory.
